BTS member Jin continues to show strong global popularity as a solo artist.

On June 13, Jin won “Best of Listeners’ Choice: Overseas Song” at Japan’s major music awards show, “Music Awards Japan” (MAJ), for his solo track “Don’t Say You Love Me”.

The award was based on votes made through Spotify. After the result was announced, Spotify Japan thanked fans through its official social media, writing, “Thank you to everyone who participated in voting for Music Awards Japan (MAJ) on Spotify.”

“Don’t Say You Love Me” is the title track of Jin’s second solo mini album “Echo”, which was released on May 16, 2025. The song previously reached No. 1 on Spotify’s Global Chart dated May 25, 2025. It also became the first song by an Asian artist released in 2025 to top the Spotify Global Chart.

Jin also showed impressive chart power in Japan. On Spotify Japan, “Don’t Say You Love Me” stayed at No. 1 for 80 days, giving Jin the longest cumulative No. 1 record among K pop solo artists on the platform. For comparison, BTS’s “Butter” stayed at No. 1 for 100 days, while “Dynamite” held the top spot for 84 days.

His success also continued on Billboard Japan’s 2026 first half charts. “Don’t Say You Love Me” ranked No. 63 on the Hot 100, making it the highest ranking song by a K pop solo artist and the only K pop solo entry on the chart. Jin also placed No. 85 on the Artist 100 chart.

His album “Echo” also performed well on album charts. It ranked No. 41 on Billboard Japan’s 2025 year end Top Album Sales Chart and No. 39 on Oricon’s 2025 yearly chart, where it became the top ranked K pop solo album and the only K pop solo entry.

With his MAJ win and strong chart records, Jin is once again proving his popularity as a solo artist in Japan and beyond.
