Lee Jun Young has personally shared his upcoming military enlistment news with fans.
On June 14, the actor and singer uploaded a long handwritten letter on his social media, revealing that he will enlist on July 21.
In the letter, Lee Jun Young opened up about how difficult it was to write the message. He said, “I have been thinking for months about where I should start this story, and I finally decided to write this myself.” He also shared, “This is already the 10th time I am rewriting it.”
Lee Jun Young explained that he wanted fans to hear the news directly from him instead of through reports. He wrote, “I thought it would be better for me to tell you myself instead of letting you hear the news through an article.”
He then announced, “I never thought I would share this kind of news with my own mouth. Yes! I will enlist on July 21.”
The star also honestly shared how his feelings changed after receiving the official date. He said, “Before I knew the enlistment date, I thought, ‘What is the big deal? I will just go.’ But after receiving the date, I started thinking a lot for the first time in a while.”
Lee Jun Young added that he thought carefully about how to tell fans first, saying that writing the letter helped him feel a little lighter.
He ended the letter with a warm promise, saying, “I will go and return healthy, and in my own way.” He also wished fans good health and happiness until the day he greets them again, adding, “Thank you for always caring for me and supporting me.”
In his usual witty style, Lee Jun Young finished the letter with the playful line, “Merry Christmas and Happy New Year X 2.”
Meanwhile, Lee Jun Young is currently appearing in the drama “Reborn Rookie”. He will begin his military service on July 21.
