Busan is getting ready for a major BTS weekend as thousands of local and international fans arrive for the group’s “ARIRANG” concert.

BTS will hold their Busan concert for two days from June 12 to 13 at Busan Asiad Main Stadium. The event is expected to bring in up to 100,000 fans, with around 50,000 foreign visitors reportedly coming to Korea to watch the show.

Because of the large crowd, the government and Busan City are preparing major safety and transportation measures. A total of 3,043 safety staff members will be placed around Busan Asiad Main Stadium and other event areas, including Busan Port Pier 1, Gwangalli Beach, and Haeundae Beach.

The staff will include city officials, district office workers, police officers, firefighters, and public agency employees.

Officials plan to focus safety staff on crowded areas and bottleneck zones where accidents are more likely to happen. Safety fences will also be installed.

Since the concert is taking place during warm daytime hours, drinking water and shade shelters will be prepared to help prevent heat related issues.

Public transportation will also be expanded for fans. Busan City will add 116 subway trips and 28 light rail trips from 9:30 PM on the concert day until the last train on June 13. City buses will also run more often from 10 PM to 11:30 PM after the concert ends.

The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport will add 36 late night temporary bus trips after 10 PM from June 12 to 14.

Extra KTX and ITX trains will also run between Busan and other areas such as Ulsan, Daegu, and Seoul. South Gyeongsang Province will also increase intercity bus services between Busan and nearby regions.

Airports and ports are also preparing for the arrival of overseas fans. Incheon International Airport, Gimhae International Airport, and Busan Port are expected to be busier than usual.

The Ministry of Justice has been carrying out special immigration measures from June 10 to 14 to help foreign visitors enter Korea more smoothly. At Incheon Airport, immigration staff will be increased by up to 88% compared to normal levels.

This marks BTS’s first Busan concert in about four years since 2022. Along with the concert, BTS will also hold the “BTS THE CITY ARIRANG – BUSAN” project across the city to celebrate the event and their debut anniversary.
