ATEEZ’s Hong Joong is receiving attention for taking on a new challenge as a music director.
On May 7, Hong Joong attended the 27th Jeonju International Film Festival at CGV Jeonju Gosa for the film “Hallucination.” He joined the GV, or audience talk, and met viewers after the screening.
“Hallucination” is a film about Ralphi, a fashion editor who lives like AI and begins to fall in love after giving personality to an AI named Call. The film was specially screened in the festival’s largest theater, drawing strong interest from the audience.

Hong Joong participated in the film as the main music director. He worked on and produced “BLEEDING LIGHT,” a song written from Ralphi’s point of view as the character starts to feel emotions toward AI. He also produced “NOTHING LEFT,” which expresses the uneasy feeling at the center of the story.
Hong Joong also took part in singing “NOTHING LEFT” himself, adding more emotion to the film’s ending and leaving a strong impression on viewers.
After the screening, Hong Joong spoke with the audience about the music, answered questions, and shared behind the scenes stories about his work on the film.

He said, “I am honored to take part as the music director of a film through this good opportunity. It was a very meaningful project. I gained a lot of inspiration while watching the process of filling the film with the music I worked on and the new sounds I created.”
He added, “I hope Korean independent films can reach more people, and I want to continue trying new projects in different ways.”
Hong Joong has recently been active in many areas outside of music as an idol. He was chosen as a global ambassador for World Vision’s “Global 6K for Water” campaign and also appeared as an “Honorary Falconer” at an LAFC match at BMO Stadium in Los Angeles.
Meanwhile, “Hallucination” is also gaining attention because Hong Joong’s older brother Bum Joong stars as the lead character.
