Actor Kang Dong Won has gained attention for keeping a promise he made to a fan four months earlier, sending a congratulatory flower wreath to a wedding after a memorable interaction at a movie event.
Recently, a story titled "A follow-up on the flower wreath promise that came true four months later. Thanks to Kang Dong Won" circulated online, along with a video showing how the actor made the promise.
According to the fan's account, the story began in June during a stage greeting event for Kang Dong Won's film Wild Thing.
A fan wanted to prepare a special surprise for a close friend who was getting married. The friend was also a longtime fan of Kang Dong Won.
To make the occasion memorable, the fan brought a sketchbook featuring three possible wedding gifts and asked Kang Dong Won to choose one.
The options were sending a congratulatory flower wreath, giving a wedding cash gift, or personally attending the ceremony.
After looking at the choices, Kang Dong Won reportedly smiled and silently mouthed, "I'll send a flower wreath."
However, the interaction did not end there.
According to the fan, Kang Dong Won remembered that they had mentioned giving him a wedding invitation after the stage greeting.
As he was leaving the venue, the actor reportedly approached the fan, offered his congratulations, and accepted the invitation.
He then reassured the fan, saying, "I'll send it."
Four months later, Kang Dong Won reportedly fulfilled that promise.
A congratulatory flower wreath bearing his name arrived at the wedding venue, surprising those attending the ceremony and making the bride's special day even more memorable.
The fan later shared the experience online, explaining that they had not expected the actor to remember such a brief interaction.
"Honestly, so much time had passed that I naturally thought he had forgotten. I wasn't expecting anything, but thanks to him, the bride had an even more special moment," the fan wrote.
The fan also expressed appreciation with a simple message, "Kang Dong Won is the best."
The story has brought attention to Kang Dong Won's thoughtful gesture, particularly because he reportedly remembered and fulfilled a promise made during a short interaction several months earlier.
Meanwhile, Kang Dong Won is preparing for his upcoming Netflix historical romance drama Soul: Time of Three and director Kwak Kyung Taek's new film Subjugation.
While the actor continues to prepare for his next projects, his reported gesture toward a fan has become a heartwarming story about keeping promises, even the small ones.
