Girl group USPEER, known as the juniors of OH MY GIRL, has ended their exclusive contract with WM Entertainment just six months after their debut.
On January 6, WM Entertainment confirmed, “As of December 31, USPEER’s exclusive contract with our company has ended.”
The agency explained, “USPEER was a team carefully prepared over a long time with effort and care. We prioritized their long-term growth and potential over company interests. After detailed discussions with former CEO Lee Won Min, who oversaw USPEER’s production, the contract and trademark matters were concluded amicably.”
WM also assured fans, “Even after the contract ends, we will continue to maintain close cooperation and fully support the members so they can continue their activities smoothly. We will cheer for USPEER as they grow as artists.”
USPEER is a seven-member girl group that WM Entertainment introduced about 10 years after OH MY GIRL, following the company’s history of discovering B1A4, ONF, and Lee Chae Yeon.
After being acquired by RBW in April 2021, WM continued as an independent label. However, following management disputes and financial issues involving former CEO Lee Won Min, who planned USPEER, the internal system was reorganized.
This led to the unusual situation where USPEER’s contract ended only six months after their debut.
