Disney+ has announced that A Shop for Killers Season 2 has made a record-breaking start, becoming the most-watched Korean Disney+ Original series worldwide on its first day of release.

According to The Walt Disney Company Korea, the action series premiered its first two episodes on July 22 and immediately claimed the top spot among all Korean Disney+ Originals globally based on first-day viewership. The achievement marks the strongest launch for a Korean original series on the platform.

The new season has also surpassed the first-day viewing performance of its predecessor. In addition to its global success, A Shop for Killers Season 2 ranked as the most-watched Korean content across the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region on its release day, highlighting its strong international appeal.

The record follows the success of A Shop for Killers Season 1, which earned global recognition after its 2024 release.

The series was selected by The New York Times as one of the Best TV Shows of 2024 in its international television list and was also named among TIME magazine's Top 4 Korean Dramas of 2024, helping establish it as one of Disney+'s standout Korean original productions.

Starring Lee Dong Wook and Kim Hye Jun, A Shop for Killers Season 2 follows Ji An, who has completed a harsh succession process to become the new leader of the mysterious shopping mall.

Together with the unexpectedly returned Jin Man, she begins a full-scale counterattack against the global Babylon organization.

The first two episodes of A Shop for Killers Season 2 are now streaming on Disney+, with two new episodes scheduled to be released every Wednesday as part of the series' eight-episode run.
