Danielle, who recently left NewJeans, is facing legal and professional challenges, according to lawyer Lee Ji Hoon from the YouTube channel Knowing Lawyer.
In a video uploaded on January 2 titled “From now on, kill each other! Daniel vs Biological Mom vs Adoptive Mom,” Lee Ji Hoon analyzed Daniel’s situation and advised that continuing volunteer activities is “good, but now is not the time. The NewJeans members unilaterally broke their contracts and caused losses to the company. That damage affected the shareholders. Doing volunteer work while harming someone doesn’t make sense.”
He added, “This is a time to be cautious and serious. If there are people harmed by their actions, they should show remorse and restraint. Actions like this only make the situation worse.”

The lawyer emphasized that Daniel must take responsibility, stating, “Daniel must admit his mistakes. She should acknowledge them and say, ‘The reason this happened was that I was gaslit by Min Hee Jin,’ and step away. While she may be liable to compensate ADOR, more responsibility should be placed on Min Hee Jin internally.”
Regarding his relationship with Min Hee Jin, Lee Ji Hoon stressed, “Danielle must cut ties completely and decisively. She cannot side with Min Hee Jin. Otherwise, she cannot recover. She must actively claim and prove that she was gaslit, cooperate with the company, and take a separate path from Min Hee Jin.”
On December 29, ADOR officially announced, “Daniel’s case makes it difficult for him to continue as a NewJeans member and ADOR artist. We have terminated her exclusive contract. We also plan to hold one member of Danielle’s family and former CEO Min Hee Jin legally responsible for causing this dispute and delaying New Jeans’ activities.”
ADOR has filed a lawsuit against Danielle for penalties and damages, showing the company is legally clarifying responsibilities from the contract. The total claim is around 43.1 billion KRW. Daniel has appointed a legal representative and submitted a power of attorney to the court.
