Actor Lee Jun Ho recently opened up about his experience filming the tvN weekend drama Typhoon Family and shared his happiness that the series ended with over 10% in viewership ratings.
In an interview at a café in Seongdong gu, Seoul, Lee Jun Ho reflected on the drama, which aired its final episode on November 30. Typhoon Company is set during the 1997 IMF crisis and tells the story of Kang Tae Pung, a beginner office worker who unexpectedly becomes the president of a struggling trading company. Lee Jun Ho brought the character to life, portraying Kang Tae Pung’s sudden rise to CEO overnight.
Talking about saying goodbye to the project, Lee Jun Ho revealed, “It’s a project I prepared for about a year. It’s never easy to let go of a project, but this one feels even harder to part with because I put so much love and time into it. The feelings still linger.”

He also shared his fondness for Kang Tae Pung, saying, “Tae Pung is honest, open with his feelings, and bold when he decides to act. Watching him made me think, ‘If I had this kind of attitude earlier, maybe my twenties would have been easier.’ He’s a character with many emotions and sides, so I grew very attached to him.”
To accurately portray the late 1990s setting, Lee Jun Ho carefully prepared his appearance and mannerisms.

He said, “For the hairstyle, I referenced Lee Jae Hoon from the group Cool and singer Kim Min Jong. I followed the styles seniors used at that time for accuracy.” About the “bridge hair” he wore on the show, he added, “I actually wanted to try bridge dyeing myself. For filming, we used a bridge hair piece.”
Lee Jun Ho also perfected the Seoul dialect from the period. “If the tone is too strong, it can sound funny. So I prepared very carefully. I watched interviews from old news clips as references,” he explained.
Thanks to his dedicated performance, Typhoon Family ended on a high note. According to Nielsen Korea, the final episode recorded 10.3%, the series’ highest rating.
Reflecting on the achievement, Lee Jun Ho said, “I’m glad it ended at 10%. I really wished for it. It finally went over, so I was able to finish happily.”
