Actress Park Shin Hye shared her hopes for her new JTBC drama Undercover Miss Hong during a production press conference held on January 12th at The Link Seoul Tribute Portfolio Hotel in Guro-gu, Seoul.
Undercover Miss Hong is a 1990s retro office comedy, naturally inviting comparisons to last year’s tvN hit Typhoon Family.
Park Shin Hye commented, “I focused on filming for six months as if I didn’t exist on Earth, so I didn’t really watch it. But the ratings were really high. I hope ours turn out well too,” showing both surprise and optimism.
She added, “I firmly believe the drama will receive a lot of love, but even if it doesn’t, I won’t be upset. In our job, we are always judged and receive feedback from viewers, so of course it would be great if the ratings were huge."
She added, "But personally, I don’t dwell too much on it because the moments I spend on set meeting great actors and gaining positive energy are treasures for me.”
Park Shin Hye continued with a lighthearted comment, “I don’t want to compare anyone’s efforts, but since Typhoon Family came before us, I hope our ratings follow and bring us good energy. It would be great if we could rise as much as Typhoon did.”
The drama follows 30-year-old elite securities supervisor Hong Geum Bo (Park Shin Hye), who goes undercover as a young entry-level employee at a suspicious securities company after unusual fund movements are detected.
Directed by Park Sun Ho, known for Greasy Melo, Business Proposal, and Suspicious Partner, the series promises a mix of chaos, comedy, and workplace intrigue.
Undercover Miss Hong will premiere on January 17th at 9:10 PM, giving viewers a new retro office comedy to enjoy.
