K-pop continues to dominate the global music scene, and now some of its biggest acts have earned recognition from one of the world’s most respected music magazines.

Rolling Stone has unveiled its special list of “The 250 Greatest Songs of the 21st Century So Far,” and among the chosen are some of Korea’s most iconic groups — BTS, BLACKPINK, Girls’ Generation, and NewJeans.

BTS’s “Spring Day” ranked the highest among them at No. 37, with Rolling Stone praising it as one of the group’s most defining tracks. The magazine described it as “a song that blooms with feelings of recovery and hope after loss, creating a transcendent emotional connection that helped drive BTS’s global rise.”

Following them, BLACKPINK’s “DDU-DU DDU-DU” claimed the No. 142 spot. Rolling Stone noted that the 2018 megahit perfectly showcases each member’s individuality, writing that “Lisa and Jennie lead with sharp, confident raps, while Rosé and Jisoo build the pre-chorus with smooth, sweet vocals that carry a subtle sense of danger.”

Girls’ Generation’s “Gee” also made the list at No. 170, with Rolling Stone calling it “a bright and chaotic pop single that perfectly captures the charm that made them the nation’s girl group.”

Meanwhile, rising stars NewJeans entered the lineup with “Hype Boy” at No. 206. The magazine praised it as “a song that captures youthful excitement and the emotions of a crush with irresistible charm, blending Korean and English lyrics effortlessly.”

With four generations of K-pop acts represented, fans are celebrating how Korean music continues to shape the global pop culture landscape — proving once again that K-pop’s influence is stronger than ever.
