JUST B’s Bain, known as the first male idol to publicly come out, has shared the difficulties he faced after making the brave decision.
In a recent interview on YouTube channel Hong Seok Cheon’s Jewel Box, Bae In reflected on how life has changed since.
He explained, “It feels like I gained a new perspective and I like that. When I wrote lyrics before, I always had to use ‘woman, her, she’ or keep it vague, but now at least in my personal songs I can write freely.”

The idol also revealed the tough reality of online reactions. “I read all the comments. In my view, about 80% were supportive."

He added, "Overseas, people said things like ‘That’s cool, good job,’ but in Korea, the reactions were harsh. It hurt and I felt guilty. For a moment, I wondered if I did something wrong. That’s when reality hit me.”
Despite the challenges, Bain explained why he chose to come out early in his career: “I used to think I’d do it after becoming really famous, because then the influence would be bigger."
He added, "But if I kept holding it back, it would feel suffocating, and I felt like I might never have the courage again. Timing isn’t something I can choose.”
Bain’s honest words continue to resonate with fans, as he proves his courage by speaking openly about his journey.
