Chungha is raising anticipation for her comeback with a striking new concept for her upcoming digital single México.
On August 24, the singer released new concept photos and a lyric poster through her official social media accounts.
In the images, Chungha shows a bold and confident mood with an intense gaze and powerful styling. One photo in particular features her wearing a leopard-print outfit while looking directly at the camera, highlighting the dramatic concept of the new release.
The lyric poster also offered an early look at the song’s message, featuring Spanish lyrics that translate to, “Speed up and keep going until the sun rises. If I’m with you, I’ll go all the way. Let’s go to Mexico, you and me.”
Ahead of the release, Chungha also met fans through a taco truck event prepared to celebrate México. In a video shared on her official YouTube channel, she personally interacted with fans and handed out taco coupons while promoting the song.
Chungha said, “After several years, ‘México’ is finally being officially released. Thank you so much for waiting.”
She added, “It is comfortable to listen to, but the performance is incredible. I hope it becomes a song that both your eyes and ears can enjoy.”
México will be Chungha’s first solo single in about seven months following Save Me, which was released in February.
The song is described as expressing the courage to leave behind a repetitive and empty reality, travel somewhere unfamiliar, and discover a new version of oneself.
Chungha’s digital single México will be released on September 1 at 6 p.m. KST.
