Song Kang and Kim So Hyun are officially reuniting on screen about five years after working together in Love Alarm.

The two actors have been confirmed as the leads of MBC’s upcoming Friday-Saturday drama White Scandal, a romance based on a webtoon of the same name.

The story follows Dan Yi Hyuk, a third-generation chaebol and top actor who does not want to become his family’s successor, and Ji Eun Seol, a former child star whose career fell apart after a past incident. The two begin a fake relationship for their own reasons while gradually facing old wounds and secrets connected to their past.

Song Kang will play Dan Yi Hyuk, one of South Korea’s biggest actors and a member of a wealthy family. Having spent much of his life meeting his grandfather’s expectations, Yi Hyuk tries to escape the pressure of becoming the family successor. His situation changes when he enters a fake relationship with Ji Eun Seol.

Kim So Hyun will take on the role of Ji Eun Seol, who was once a promising child actress. After an incident affected her career, she began working as a manager while still holding onto her dream of acting. Her life takes another turn when she reunites with Yi Hyuk, who is connected to the events of her past.

The casting is receiving particular attention because Song Kang and Kim So Hyun previously starred together in Netflix’s Love Alarm. They first worked together in season 1 in 2019 and returned for season 2 in 2021.

While Love Alarm focused on youthful romance, White Scandal is expected to show a more mature side of the two actors as they portray characters carrying emotional scars and unresolved history.

The drama will also mark another major project for Song Kang following his military discharge in October 2025.

Filming for White Scandal is expected to begin soon.
