The original author behind Netflix’s The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call has shared a promising update about season 2, saying filming could begin as early as October.
On the August 24 broadcast of KBS 2TV’s Malja Show, web novel writer and former ENT doctor Lee Nak Jun appeared as a guest and discussed the future of the hit medical series.
When asked about growing expectations for seasons 2 and 3, Lee Nak Jun revealed that preparations for the next season are already moving forward.
He said, “The pre-production work for season 2 is finished, and they are currently looking for filming locations. I think filming will probably begin in October.”
His comments suggest that The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call season 2 has entered the preparation stage. However, Netflix and the production team have not yet officially confirmed the filming date, release schedule, or final production plans.
The update also comes as actress Ha Young, who played nurse Cheon Jang Mi in season 1, faces public criticism over comments she previously made about her family history.
Earlier this month, Ha Young said she had only known limited information about her great-grandfather through stories passed down by her family.
After controversy arose over reports concerning his activities during the Japanese colonial period, she issued a statement saying she had reviewed historical materials herself and reflected on discussing her family history without fully understanding it.
She stated in part, “I had only known fragments of my great-grandfather’s life through stories from my family,” and said she regretted speaking about the matter without properly understanding the historical background.
With season 2 preparations reportedly progressing, attention is now focused on whether filming will begin in October as suggested and whether there will be any changes to the returning cast. Official details are expected to come from Netflix or the production team at a later date.
