Jeon Somi has given fans the update they’ve been waiting years for — the I.O.I reunion is not just a dream anymore.

In a recent interview in Seoul for her second EP Chaotic & Confused, Somi opened up about her music, career, and the one question fans always ask: “Will I.O.I get back together?”

The former Produce 101 center shared, “Whenever I’m asked if I still keep in touch with the I.O.I members or if we might reunite"

She added, "I think, ‘People are still interested in us’ and ‘They still remember us,’ which makes me so thankful. We also really want to do it. I hope people keep asking us about it — maybe if they do, it will happen.”

Somi revealed that the talks have gone beyond casual wishes. “We’ve been having specific talks about how we should meet and come together in a way that gives people beautiful memories."

She added, "We’ve been discussing timing and what would be best. Since we’ve always wanted to do it, our group chat still exists and it’s very noisy (laughs). We’re having more concrete conversations now.”

I.O.I — made up of Jeon Somi, Kim Sejeong, Choi Yoo Jung, Chungha, Kim So Hye, Kyulkyung, Jung Chae Yeon, Kim Do Yeon, Kang Mi Na, Lim Na Young, and Yoo Yeon Jung — debuted in 2016 and officially promoted for just one year.

But even after disbandment, the members have stayed close, with reunion rumors popping up repeatedly since 2019.

Earlier this year, Chungha also fueled hopes by saying, “We are talking about it… but nothing is confirmed yet.” Now, with Somi saying the discussions are becoming concrete, fans are more convinced than ever that a 10th anniversary comeback in 2026 might finally happen.

Netizens are already buzzing with excitement, with comments like, “I.O.I reunion in 2026 is going to break the internet,” and “The noisy group chat is my favorite detail.”
