Singer and actor Kim Min Jong has opened up about the professional damage he says he suffered after his name was mentioned in an illegal gambling controversy.

Kim Min Jong is set to discuss the issue on the October 11 broadcast of SBS’s "My Little Old Boy", where he will explain how the controversy affected his career and why he later withdrew his legal complaint against MC Mong.

The issue began in May, when MC Mong claimed during a livestream that an illegal gambling group existed in the entertainment industry and mentioned Kim Min Jong by name.

Kim Min Jong immediately denied any involvement.

According to reports, Kim Min Jong said the controversy ultimately caused him to lose a role in an upcoming Hollywood film that was expected to include filming in the United States. He also said discussions for two major advertising deals were stopped.

Kim Min Jong later filed a defamation complaint against MC Mong on September 1.

Several days later, MC Mong publicly apologized and acknowledged that mentioning Kim Min Jong without properly confirming the facts was wrong.

He reportedly said, *“It was wrong of me to mention Kim Min Jong in the first place.”*

After receiving the apology, Kim Min Jong withdrew his complaint on September 9.

His legal representative explained that Kim Min Jong chose not to continue pursuing legal responsibility after MC Mong apologized directly and asked for forgiveness.

Kim Min Jong said, *“I thought it was also necessary to give another chance to someone who admitted his mistake and apologized.”*

He added, *“It is true that I suffered difficult-to-heal wounds and damage over the past four months, but I did not want to ignore the feelings of a junior who reflected on his actions and asked for forgiveness.”*

Kim Min Jong also said he believed ending the dispute was more meaningful than continuing the legal fight.

He concluded by thanking those who supported him and said he plans to continue focusing on music and acting.

Kim Min Jong is expected to share more details about the lost Hollywood project and the controversy during his appearance on "My Little Old Boy".
