TXT’s Soobin has revealed the unexpected story behind his three-year friendship with singer-songwriter Hanroro, sharing that their relationship began after he personally sent her a DM.
The two appeared together in an October 9 video on the YouTube channel *Jip Daesung*, where their comfortable way of joking with each other quickly showed how close they had become.
Soobin explained, *“People seeing us for the first time might think we’re being really rude to each other even though we just met. We’re actually friends.”*
He then revealed how their friendship started.
Soobin has long been a fan of Hanroro’s music and said one particular song, *Skipping Stones*, affected him deeply.
He recalled, *“Hanroro wrote the song Skipping Stones, and I cried while listening to it. The lyrics really hit me.”*
The song moved him enough that he decided to contact Hanroro directly.
Soobin explained, *“I sent her a DM first to say thank you for writing a song that I loved so much.”*
That message eventually developed into a friendship that has now lasted around three years.
Hanroro also expressed her appreciation for Soobin making the first move, joking, *“I don’t have many friends, so thank you for approaching me first.”*
Soobin then praised how much Hanroro’s career has grown since they first became friends, saying, *“She used to be my secret artist that I wanted to keep to myself, but now she has become a huge singer.”*
Hanroro playfully credited him for helping introduce her music to more people, saying, *“It’s thanks to Soobin. He kept giving me shout-outs.”*
Soobin immediately disagreed, and Hanroro jokingly replied, *“Actually, I guess that’s probably not true,”* drawing laughter.
Their casual exchange highlighted the easy friendship they have built over the past three years, all beginning with Soobin sending a simple message after being moved by one of Hanroro’s songs.
