i-dle member Minnie has reached a meaningful milestone in her solo career by releasing her first Thai-language album, i love you to the moon and back, to celebrate her birthday.

The singer released the digital EP on October 23 at 12 p.m. KST, marking the first time since her debut that she has released an entire project in her native language.

The three-track album is especially personal because Minnie participated in writing the lyrics and composing all three songs.

Through an interview shared by Cube Entertainment, Minnie opened up about the experience of creating music in Thai and why writing lyrics in her native language was both exciting and challenging.

She explained, "I'm really happy and excited that I can finally let my fans hear songs sung in my native language, Thai."

Minnie added that although she had covered Thai songs before, releasing original music that she helped create herself felt different.

She said, "I've covered Thai songs many times, but I'm especially excited to share Thai songs that I worked on myself. I hope this album becomes a gift for NEVERLAND."

One of the biggest challenges was writing lyrics in Thai, something Minnie admitted she had rarely done despite growing up in Thailand.

She shared, "Even though I'm Thai, I haven't written lyrics in Thai very often, so I was worried."

She explained that she wanted the words to sound beautiful and natural, which made her think carefully about how to express her feelings.

However, she was pleased with the final result.

“I kept thinking about how to write the lyrics beautifully and make them sound good. But everything came together naturally, and I'm really proud of how they turned out,” she said.

Minnie also revealed that her love for looking at the sky helped inspire the album.

She explained that she enjoyed turning images of the moon, clouds, and night into songs about love.

The EP includes three tracks: to the moon :), insomnia, and เมฆขาว (white clouds).

The title track, to the moon :), is a synth-pop love song about wanting to stay beside someone special.

Minnie described its message as a warm and sincere expression of love.

“It's about loving someone to the moon and back. It expresses warm and honest feelings,” she explained.

She added that the song features the kind of synth-pop sound she enjoys, combined with melodies that reflect her personal musical style.

Meanwhile, insomnia explores the lonely feeling of being unable to sleep because someone is constantly on your mind.

The third track, เมฆขาว (white clouds), tells a story about missing someone who is far away and expressing those feelings through white clouds.

According to Minnie, the three songs were created to show different sides of love, from happiness and affection to loneliness and longing.

She hopes listeners will connect the songs to their own personal experiences.

The singer also reflected on how the new EP differs from her previous solo mini album, HER.

While HER focused on showing different sides of her personality through various musical styles, i love you to the moon and back places greater attention on her personal feelings.

She explained, “If HER was an album that showed my different sides and colors, this digital EP expresses my emotions and stories about love more honestly.”

For this release, Minnie said she focused more on making sure the emotions in the melodies and lyrics could be clearly understood.

The new project arrives approximately one year and nine months after her previous solo album.

To celebrate the release, Minnie also organized a special pop-up event in Bangkok, Thailand, running from October 23 to 25.

She is also scheduled to meet fans through MINNIE SPECIAL LIVE IN BANGKOK on October 25.

As she begins this new chapter, Minnie expressed her gratitude to fans who have waited for her solo music.

She said, “Thank you so much to everyone who has been waiting. Since this is my first Thai-language album, I'm really excited.”

She added, “I want to repay your support with good music. I'll continue sharing music that reflects Minnie's own style, so please stay with me for a long time. I love you!”

With her first fully Thai-language EP, Minnie has taken a new step in her music career by sharing original songs written in the language she grew up speaking.

The release highlights not only her connection to her Thai roots but also her growth as a singer-songwriter who continues to explore more personal ways of expressing herself through music.
