Actor Ahn Hyo Seop has shared a funny and unexpected experience from attending the 98th Academy Awards, revealing that he spent much of his time at the after-parties standing in a corner because he did not know anyone.

On the October 24 episode of JTBC's variety show Knowing Bros, Ahn Hyo Seop appeared alongside Hong Hwa Yeon, Jung Yoo Jin, and Jang Ryul to promote their new drama Final Table.

During the episode, Ahn Hyo Seop opened up about attending the Academy Awards in March 2026 in connection with the animated film KPop Demon Hunters.

The cast members were curious about what happened behind the scenes at one of Hollywood's biggest events, especially the celebrations that followed the ceremony.

When asked whether there were after-parties and what kind of food was served, Ahn Hyo Seop explained that guests had several different celebrations to choose from.

He shared, "There are so many after-party venues. They're all different depending on who's hosting them."

However, what surprised him most was something that happened during the awards ceremony itself.

Ahn Hyo Seop revealed that attendees could leave the main ceremony for a break and visit a bar before returning to their seats.

He explained, "What I found fascinating was that you could go outside during the ceremony and have a drink at the bar. There was wine, whiskey, and champagne."

He added, "You could take a break in between the ceremony and then go back inside."

The cast then asked whether the after-parties had a relaxed atmosphere where celebrities could freely socialize and take photos together.

Ahn Hyo Seop confirmed that many attendees were doing exactly that.

However, his own experience was quite different.

He admitted, "A lot of people were doing that. But I didn't know anyone, so I just stayed in a corner the whole time."

His honest confession added a humorous touch to the conversation, showing that even a popular Korean actor could feel shy at a major Hollywood event.

Despite keeping to himself, Ahn Hyo Seop still had the opportunity to see several internationally recognized celebrities.

When asked which actor left the biggest impression on him, he named Adrien Brody, known for his performance in the acclaimed film The Pianist.
