PLAVE just made a big splash with their Japanese debut!

On June 16, PLAVE released their first Japanese digital single album Kakurenbo (かくれんぼ), and the title track has already taken over the charts. In just 24 hours, Kakurenbo racked up over 2.7 million streams — a huge achievement that proves their strong global fanbase.

What’s even more amazing? Kakurenbo is now the first Japanese-language song in history to enter Melon’s Hall of Fame — a title only given to songs that hit over 1 million streams within a day on Korea’s top music platform. This makes PLAVE’s latest track a true record-breaker.

Kakurenbo is the group’s first original Japanese song, showing off PLAVE’s unique band-style sound with a fresh Japanese vibe. Members Ye Jun, Noah, and Eun Ho took part in composing the track, while Bambi and Ha Min helped create the choreography — living up to their title as “self-producing idols.”

The album also includes Japanese versions of their hit songs RIZZ and Chroma Drift. These tracks were carefully reworked to fit the Japanese language while keeping the original emotions and sound fans love.

The music video for Kakurenbo, also dropped on June 16, blends dreamy visuals and deep emotion. It tells the story of five friends who once shared their youth but start to drift apart. The MV captures their journey of searching for memories with a nostalgic “hide and seek” theme, mixed with PLAVE’s emotional band sound.

Set in beautiful Japanese summer scenes like trains, tunnels, and laundromats, the MV’s dreamy aesthetic and cinematic storytelling are winning hearts. Fans praised the high-teen visuals and delicate direction that highlight each member’s charm.

Meanwhile, PLAVE is getting ready to meet fans on their first Asia tour DASH: Quantum Leap. Their Seoul concert will be held from August 15 to 17 at the KSPO Dome, marking another milestone in just two years since their debut.

PLAVE’s rise is real — and with this Japanese debut, they’ve officially gone global.
