SHINee’s Taemin reveals why he and BIGBANG’s Taeyang clicked right away and shares his respect for BIGBANG’s legacy
On June 6, SHINee’s Taemin made a special appearance on Zip Daesung, a YouTube show hosted by BIGBANG’s Daesung, where he opened up about his unexpected bond with Taeyang and his deep respect for BIGBANG.
Taemin shared, “I once had a meal with Taeyang hyung, and I also went to one of his concerts.”
Daesung chimed in, “Didn’t you also go on Rain hyung’s YouTube channel before? I always wondered if solo male artists known for their powerful performances are especially close. Do you still talk to Young Bae hyung these days?”
Taemin replied, “We don’t talk that often now, but when we first met, we realized we had a lot in common. Hyung likes deep topics too. On our first meeting, we talked about quantum mechanics,” which surprised everyone on the set.
Daesung couldn’t help but make a pun, joking, “Talking about quantum mechanics with Taeyang… that’s Taeyang-tum mechanics!” making everyone laugh.
Taemin also took a moment to express his love for BIGBANG, saying, “There weren’t many people doing what we do before us. I think the only ones were the BIGBANG hyungs. I’m really thankful to them.”
Fans were touched by Taemin’s genuine respect and his smart (and funny) first meeting with Taeyang!
