• Viewers outraged after Yoon So Hee gives up 380 million won for Jung Hyun Gyu: “Did you give birth to him?”

After the final episode of The Devil’s Plan 2 dropped, actress Yoon So Hee has been facing major backlash online — with viewers upset over what they say was a disappointing and confusing ending.

On May 20, Netflix released the last episode of The Devil’s Plan: Death Room, the second season of the popular brain survival variety show. The series gathers people from various backgrounds to compete in mind games for seven days, with a prize of 380 million won (about $280,000). While Season 1 was well-received, Season 2 is now under fire for how it ended.

Most of the criticism is aimed at finalist Yoon So Hee and winner Jung Hyun Gyu. Yoon So Hee drew heat for her emotional behavior toward Jung Hyun Gyu, especially when she said during the final, “Even if I lose, I want to trust Hyun Gyu and go for it.” Viewers questioned her intentions, asking if this was a strategy show or a romance series.

Many were shocked when she seemingly gave up the win, despite being known as a KAIST graduate with top academic skills. Her emotional choice to let Jung Hyun Gyu win left people confused — and angry.

Jung Hyun Gyu, a former contestant from Transit Love 2, ended up taking the prize. But the result didn’t sit well with many fans of the show, who felt the outcome didn’t reflect a true battle of brains.

Super Junior’s Kyuhyun, another contestant, also found himself in hot water. He was criticized for acting emotionally and being overly harsh with other players, especially former announcer Kang Ji Young. Some fans accused him of being selfish and not playing fairly.

Online, the criticism has been brutal. Comments on Kyuhyun’s posts include:

    • “Seriously, stop going on shows like this.”
    • “You knew there were hidden benefits, and you still acted like that?”
    • “You let yourself be eliminated to protect Hyun Gyu? Why?!”

Yoon So Hee’s social media was also flooded with harsh messages:

    • “If you didn’t want to win, why did you join the show?”
    • “You’re smart, but why act like a helper instead of a player?”
    • “Did you and Kyuhyun give birth to Jung Hyun Gyu or something?”
    • “This felt more like Transit Love than a survival show.”
    • “I envy you for giving up 380 million won so easily.”

Some even sarcastically praised her “heartwarming” sacrifice, calling it “the most emotional 380 million won confession.”

Fans are now questioning the direction of the show, saying the finale felt more like a romance drama than a mind game. Many say Jung Hyun Gyu didn’t deserve the win and feel that The Devil’s Plan 2 strayed too far from its original concept.
