• LE SSERAFIM Becomes the First K-Pop Girl Group to Win 'Special International Music Award' at Japan Record Awards

LE SSERAFIM has made history as the first K-pop girl group to win the 'Special International Music Award' at the Japan Record Awards, shining with their global popularity.

On the 21st, LE SSERAFIM (Kim Chaewon, Sakura, Heo Yunjin, Kazuha, Hong Eunchae) was awarded the Special International Music Award at the 66th Japan Record Awards (also known as the 'Japan Record Awards'), becoming the first K-pop girl group to receive the honor.

The Japan Record Awards, organized by the Japan Composer’s Association, is a prestigious and long-standing music award ceremony that began in 1959. The Special International Music Award is presented to artists who have shown exceptional global activities during the year, regardless of their region or country, making it particularly meaningful.

Through their agency, Source Music, LE SSERAFIM shared their gratitude, saying, "It is an honor to receive this award at the Japan Record Awards. We are thankful to our fans, FEARNOT, who always support us. We will continue to show the best version of LE SSERAFIM. Thank you again from the bottom of our hearts."

Before receiving the Japan Record Awards, LE SSERAFIM had already won trophies at major award shows in the U.S. and Europe. They won PUSH Performance of the Year at the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards in the U.S. and Best Push at the 2024 MTV Europe Music Awards in Europe. These achievements further demonstrated their rising global influence as they swept major music award shows around the world.

The attention for LE SSERAFIM extends beyond award shows. The group has received numerous requests to appear on various year-end special programs. LE SSERAFIM is set to perform on 2024 FNS Gayo on Japan's Fuji TV on December 11, and will also take the stage at NHK's 75th Kohaku Uta Gassen on December 31. Notably, LE SSERAFIM has been invited to perform at the Kohaku Uta Gassen for three consecutive years, garnering significant attention for their unmatched presence in terms of viewership and buzz.

On December 11, LE SSERAFIM will release their third Japanese single, CRAZY. The pre-release track Star Signs, which dropped on the 13th, quickly climbed to the top of the real-time charts on Line Music and AWA, and has been chosen as the campaign song for the large fashion shopping center LUMINE’s year-end campaign, receiving much love.

Additionally, LE SSERAFIM will attend the 9th Asia Artist Awards (AAA 2024), which will be held on December 27 at the IMPACT Challenger Hall 1-2 in Bangkok, Thailand.

The Asia Artist Awards, first held in 2016, is Korea's first integrated awards ceremony honoring both actors and singers. The AAA 2024 will be hosted by actor Ryu Junyeol, alongside IVE’s Jang Wonyoung and ZEROBASEONE’s Sung Hanbin.

  • Will 'When the Stars Gossip' Recover From Its Shocking 2% Ratings? 500-Billion KRW Drama Struggles to Gain Viewership

When the Stars Gossip is facing a tough battle as its ratings continue to decline, leaving many to wonder if it can recover.

Despite its massive 500 billion KRW budget and a year-long production process, the drama’s viewership has been steadily dropping since its premiere.

The first two episodes of the show had relatively modest ratings, with 3.3% for episode one and 3.9% for episode two.

However, the third episode, which aired on January 11th, saw a sharp drop to just 2.2%, according to Nielsen Korea.

At this rate, the drama is on the verge of falling below 1% in viewership, which would be a serious blow for the production.

The drama’s star-studded cast, featuring Gong Hyo Jin and Lee Min Ho, hasn’t been enough to stop the slide in ratings.

As the show tries to maintain its momentum, the question remains: Can When the Stars Gossip bounce back, or will its viewership continue to sink?

With such a big budget and high expectations, viewers are still holding out hope for a recovery, but the drama’s future is uncertain unless ratings start climbing.
