Shin Min Ah's new Disney+ drama The Remarried Empress is already making waves internationally, reaching No. 1 in 12 countries just one day after its premiere.
The fantasy romance series, which premiered on November 3, quickly climbed to the top of Disney+'s Today's Top 10 in Korea chart within its first day of release.
However, its success did not stop in South Korea.
According to global streaming rankings platform FlixPatrol, The Remarried Empress ranked No. 1 in the Disney+ TV show category across 12 countries and territories, while also securing the No. 7 spot in the worldwide rankings.
The drama topped the charts in major Asian markets, including South Korea, Japan, Taiwan, and Hong Kong. It also reached No. 1 in European countries such as Belgium and Switzerland, highlighting its growing international popularity.
The strong rankings are a promising start for the Korean fantasy romance, which features a star-studded cast led by Shin Min Ah, Ju Ji Hoon, Lee Se Young, and Lee Jong Suk.
Based on a popular romance fantasy story, The Remarried Empress follows Navier (Shin Min Ah), a respected empress whose life takes an unexpected turn when Emperor Sovieshu (Ju Ji Hoon) seeks a divorce after becoming involved with Rashta (Lee Se Young).
Rather than simply accepting her situation, Navier makes a surprising request involving Prince Heinrey (Lee Jong Suk) of the Western Kingdom, setting the stage for a new chapter in her life.
With its early success across Asia and Europe, The Remarried Empress has made an impressive international debut on Disney+.
The 10-episode series currently has its first four episodes available to stream, with two new episodes scheduled for release every Wednesday.
