NMIXX's Lily revealed that she received casting offers from both JYP Entertainment and YG Entertainment after appearing on *K-pop Star 4*, but ultimately joined JYP because she trusted her parents' decision.
On the November 4 broadcast of MBC's "Radio Star", Lily appeared as a guest alongside Ahn Jae Wook, Jung Young Joo, and Yoo Byung Kwon.
During the episode, Lily recalled competing on *K-pop Star 4* when she was just a sixth-grade elementary school student living in Australia.
*“I was living in Australia at the time, and my mom watched a lot of Korean programs. She also watched K-pop Star. When we heard they were holding auditions in Sydney, I was lucky enough to audition and make it to the Top 4,”* Lily shared.
Her performances attracted attention from both JYP Entertainment founder Park Jin Young and YG Entertainment founder Yang Hyun Suk, who praised her talent during the competition.
Yang Hyun Suk was particularly impressed, reportedly saying at the time, *“Even if she lived in Africa, I would have flown there myself to bring her in.”*
He also described Lily as one of the most outstanding contestants he had seen on the show, expressing his belief that a talent like hers would be difficult to find again.
Lily confirmed that both agencies later contacted her about joining.
*“I received casting offers. I think they came from YG and JYP. Since I was young, I couldn't make the decision myself, so my parents chose JYP,”* she explained.
Although she participated in discussions about her future, Lily said she had complete confidence in her parents' judgment.
*“I thought about it with them, but I completely trusted my parents' decision,”* she added.
The conversation then took a funny turn when Lily accidentally said, *“So I'm glad I joined YG.”*
Realizing her mistake, she quickly corrected herself.
*“I'm glad I joined JYP because I was able to debut as a member of NMIXX,”* she clarified.
Lily's story offered a glimpse into the early decision that shaped her career, revealing how her parents helped her choose between two major K-pop agencies before she eventually debuted with NMIXX.
