Actress Shim Eun Kyung has shared a funny and unexpected reason why her on-screen chemistry with Lee Hee Joon works so well in their upcoming romance film Day and Night Are for Each Other.

On November 2, Shim Eun Kyung attended a press screening and conference for the film at CGV Yongsan I'Park Mall in Seoul, where she talked about working with Lee Hee Joon and the unusual relationship between their characters.

The actress first expressed disappointment that her co-star could not attend the event.

"I'm really disappointed that Lee Hee Joon couldn't be here today," she said.

She then explained that the biggest charm of their on-screen relationship is how completely different the two characters are.

"I'm not sure if I should call us a couple, but the charm of our relationship is that we don't match in anything, from beginning to end," Shim Eun Kyung shared.

She continued, "Nothing about us matches, and we don't even particularly like each other."

However, Shim Eun Kyung explained that these differences are exactly what make their relationship interesting and heartwarming.

As the two characters spend time talking and learning about each other, they gradually discover unexpected connections despite their contrasting personalities.

"Even though we're different, we slowly get closer through conversations. We begin to realize that there are things we understand about each other," she explained.

The actress added that watching two people who are not naturally compatible learn how to understand and adjust to one another is what makes their relationship charming.

"We don't match at all, but I think the way we gradually grow closer is what makes our couple lovable," she said.

Meanwhile, Day and Night Are for Each Other, directed by Kim Jong Kwan, follows conversations and encounters that take place at a café over the course of a season.

The film explores human connections and how relationships can develop between people with different personalities and experiences.

With Shim Eun Kyung describing her chemistry with Lee Hee Joon as charming precisely because their characters are so different, the film offers an unusual approach to an on-screen relationship.

Day and Night Are for Each Other is scheduled to open in South Korean theaters on November 4.
