A2O LITE, the new girl group associated with former SM Entertainment producer Lee Soo Man, has achieved its first music show victory just one week after making its official debut.

On October 20, A2O LITE took first place on SBS Life's The Show with its debut single NEON, marking an important early milestone for the rookie group.

The nine-member group, consisting of Young, Oa, Ayun, Aijing, Himeki, Rada, Siri, Bora, and Mercy, officially debuted on October 13 with the release of NEON across domestic and international music platforms.

Just seven days after debuting, A2O LITE secured its first music show trophy, drawing attention to the group's rapid rise in the competitive K-pop industry.

The victory is particularly notable because the group reportedly achieved first place based on its digital music performance rather than physical album sales.

For a newly debuted group, winning a music show within its first week represents a significant achievement, especially as many rookie acts take longer to earn their first trophy.

The result also marks an early success for Lee Soo Man's latest girl group project following his departure from SM Entertainment.

However, the group's first music show win comes amid controversy involving Chinese member Aijing's family.

According to reports, a company previously operated by Aijing's mother has faced allegations of unpaid employee wages dating back to 2024. The matter has also reportedly been linked to court enforcement proceedings.

As public criticism continued, Aijing's mother issued an apology addressing the situation and emphasizing that her daughter was not involved in the business or its disputes.

In her statement, she said, “As parents, we must take responsibility for this matter and resolve it appropriately.”

She further explained, “My child has nothing to do with the business I previously operated or any related disputes.”

Despite the explanation, reports indicate that the controversy has continued to attract criticism from some members of the public and local media.

The allegations concern the business activities of Aijing's mother, and the available reports do not establish that Aijing herself was involved in the alleged wage disputes.

Meanwhile, A2O LITE has continued its promotional activities following the release of NEON.

The group's October 20 victory on The Show marks its first music show win only seven days into its career, giving the rookie act an early achievement as it begins establishing itself in the entertainment industry.

With its first trophy secured, attention now turns to how A2O LITE will build on its debut success while navigating the controversy surrounding one member's family.
