BTS has earned another international recognition as the music video for SWIM secured a nomination at the prestigious 2026 EnergaCAMERIMAGE International Film Festival, an event widely known as the “Oscars of cinematography.”
According to the festival's official announcement on October 19, SWIM, the title track from BTS' fifth full-length album ARIRANG, was selected as one of the 18 finalists from 300 music videos submitted worldwide in the Best Music Video category.
The nomination places BTS alongside major international artists, including Harry Styles with American Girls, Ariana Grande with hate that i made you love me, and Madonna with CONFESSIONS II.
The recognition is particularly meaningful because the festival focuses on cinematography, visual storytelling, and the artistic quality of filmmaking rather than music popularity alone.
Established in 1993, the Camerimage festival is considered one of the world's leading events dedicated to cinematography. Its international reputation has earned it the nickname “Oscars of cinematography” within the film industry.
BTS' SWIM music video drew attention for its cinematic visuals, large-scale production, and emotional storytelling. Filmed against the ocean scenery of Lisbon, Portugal, the video features Hollywood actress Lili Reinhart and was directed by internationally recognized filmmaker Tanu Muino.
The production combines striking ocean views with a thoughtful visual narrative that reflects the song's message of moving forward despite life's challenges. All seven BTS members appear in the video, contributing to its film-like atmosphere.
Beyond its artistic recognition, SWIM also achieved strong commercial success. Released in March 2026, the music video surpassed 100 million views on YouTube by April 15, less than a month after its release.
The nomination adds another achievement to the group's international record, highlighting how its music videos continue to gain attention beyond the K-pop industry.
The 34th EnergaCAMERIMAGE International Film Festival will take place from November 7 to 14 in Toruń, Poland. The 18 nominated music videos will receive special screenings at the CKK Jordanki main screening venue during the festival.
The winner of the Best Music Video category will be announced at the closing ceremony on November 14, with BTS competing against some of the biggest names in international music.
