Kang Hoon is taking on a very different character for his next drama, transforming into an unknown comedian chasing his dream.
His agency confirmed on October 8 that Kang Hoon will star in tvN’s upcoming Friday-Saturday drama Hot Goodbye, which is scheduled to premiere on November 6.
Kang Hoon will play Kang Tae Goo, the leader of a struggling comedy trio called Asura.
The character has dreamed of becoming a comedian since childhood and has spent his life focused on making people laugh. Despite the difficulties of pursuing an uncertain career, Tae Goo remains committed to comedy while also taking responsibility for the other members of his team.
Hot Goodbye follows three little-known comedians whose lives begin to change after they meet a mysterious woman. Rather than focusing only on success, the drama will explore their struggles, failures, friendships, and efforts to find a new direction in life.
Kang Hoon is expected to show both the cheerful side of Tae Goo and the emotional pressure of a young man caught between his dream and reality.
The role marks another change of pace for the actor after his recent romantic comedy work. Kang Hoon has previously appeared across several genres in projects including *The Red Sleeve*, *Little Women*, *The Secret Romantic Guesthouse*, *A Time Called You*, *Dear Hyeri*, and *Hunter with a Scalpel*.
With Hot Goodbye, Kang Hoon will now move away from his recent romantic lead image and take on the challenge of portraying an unknown comedian trying to make his dream work.
