Lee Jae Wook made a surprise appearance at the 31st Busan International Film Festival while on military leave to support his starring project Dead-End Job.
On October 8, the series was featured in an open talk after being invited to BIFF’s On Screen section. Director Kim Da Min, creator Han Jun Hee, Kim Min Ha, and Choi Hyun Wook attended the event to discuss the project.
Lee Jae Wook, who is currently serving in the military, was not scheduled to officially participate. However, he was spotted watching from the audience while wearing a cap and mask.
Near the end of the event, Choi Hyun Wook revealed that Lee Jae Wook was present and asked him to stand up. The actor then removed his mask, greeted the crowd, and later came on stage, drawing loud cheers from fans.
Lee Jae Wook explained, *“I’m currently fulfilling my military duty, so I feel very disappointed that I can’t properly be here with everyone.”*
He added, *“I heard the project is really fun, so I hope everyone enjoys watching it.”*
Speaking briefly about the series, he said, *“Dead-End Job is a story that is closely connected to our everyday lives.”*
Dead-End Job follows a young man played by Lee Jae Wook who takes on unusually high-paying jobs through a mysterious employment office, only to encounter increasingly unsettling situations.
Although Lee Jae Wook could not formally join the BIFF promotion schedule because of his military service, his unexpected visit during leave gave fans a rare chance to see him personally support the project.
