Jung Hae In and Ha Young are preparing to bring viewers a familiar but heartfelt romantic comedy through Netflix’s upcoming series Our Sticky Love.
The drama follows prosecutor Go Eun Sae, played by Ha Young, who loses her memory and wakes up to find boxing coach Jang Tae Ha, played by Jung Hae In, claiming to be her boyfriend.
At the press conference held on August 5, director Kim Jang Han explained that Eun Sae initially refuses to believe Tae Ha because he is not her usual type. Tae Ha has his own reason for pretending to be her boyfriend, leading to an unexpected living arrangement filled with romance and comedy.
The director also revealed that the drama will not make viewers wait long for romantic moments.
He said, “Our drama begins with a kiss in the first episode. It is not simply there to attract attention. Each kiss carries a different message depending on who takes the lead and what the characters are feeling at that moment.”
Ha Young described the central relationship as a romance between an anxious girlfriend and a dependable boyfriend.
She said, “I think it is not a cliché but a classic. It has been a long time since a drama told such a deep love story. I believe viewers may say, ‘It has been so long since we had a romantic comedy like this,’ or ‘I missed this kind of romance.’”
Jung Hae In also highlighted the drama’s warm and romantic tone, saying, “This project contains something I hope the world needs more of, and that is romance. It is filled with romantic feelings, so I hope people will give it a lot of love.”
The director added that the series focuses only on necessary scenes to maintain a quick pace. While the story has a strongly Korean atmosphere, the production team hopes its romance and emotional moments will connect with viewers around the world.
Our Sticky Love will be released on Netflix on August 7.
