BLACKPINK’s Jennie has revealed that she remains interested in taking on new acting projects after expanding her career beyond music.
On August 3, Cosmopolitan released a new interview with Jennie along with her latest cover photos.
Reflecting on her personal growth, Jennie said, “Inside me, there is still a free and young spirit who is on a journey to find herself.”
She explained that the past decade taught her how to communicate and accept situations that made her feel uncomfortable. Jennie also described her survival instinct as the strength that helped her overcome challenges and mistakes throughout her career.
She added, “I am proud that I designed that kind of life for myself from such a young age.”
Jennie also named Rihanna as one of her biggest role models.
She shared, “Rihanna has always been my biggest dream because of her influence not only on pop culture, but also on music culture and art itself.”
Jennie continued, “She is someone who gives me a great deal of inspiration. It would feel like a dream if I could also become that kind of person.”
The singer then spoke openly about her desire to continue acting. Jennie made her acting debut through the HBO series The Idol.
She said, “I can speak two languages, and acting in a second language teaches me many things.”
Jennie then made a direct invitation to casting teams, saying, “If anyone is looking for an actress like that, I am here.”
After completing her album promotions and festival schedules, Jennie said she is preparing to take some personal time and think carefully about her next direction.
She explained, “I am leaving some empty space in my mind so I can discover what else I want to move toward.”
Jennie added that not knowing exactly what will happen next feels special because it gives her time to pause, reflect, and fully experience the present.
