Unverified claims about RESCENE member Woni’s school years recently spread across social media, prompting a person who identified themselves as her former middle school homeroom teacher to respond.
The issue began on August 1 after an online user claimed to know about Woni’s past and accused her of being involved in school bullying and a troublesome peer group. However, the post reportedly did not include objective evidence or materials that could independently confirm the allegations.
As the claims spread through online communities, a person identified as “A” stated that they had been Woni’s homeroom teacher during her second and third years of middle school.
The teacher wrote, “I was Woni’s homeroom teacher during her second and third years of middle school. If she did anything wrong as a student, it would also be my responsibility for not guiding her properly.”
They continued, “I hope people will stop the indiscriminate criticism based on posts whose claims have not been verified.”
According to the teacher, Woni was active in school and maintained a positive relationship with her teachers.
They said, “She often gave her teachers candy and told them, ‘I love you.’ She served as a member of the school student council and sincerely participated in school activities, including campaigns to prevent school bullying.”
The teacher also recalled that Woni and her classmates made a cake for their teachers before graduation.
They added, “I was strict with her because I was still early in my teaching career, but she was a student who respected me, and I remain grateful to her.”
To support the account, the teacher reportedly shared a handwritten letter from Woni, group photos, a graduation album, and messages exchanged with other teachers from that period. However, the teacher’s identity and the materials have not been independently verified.
The original user who raised the allegations has since deleted both the post and the account. RESCENE’s agency has not yet released an official statement regarding the situation.
