CORTIS has been selected as one of Billboard’s most innovative and influential artists under the age of 21.
The group, consisting of Martin, James, Juhoon, Seonghyeon, and Keonho, appeared on Billboard’s annual 21 Under 21 list released on July 31. CORTIS is the only K-pop boy group included this year.
Billboard selects the list by reviewing several factors, including album and song sales, streaming numbers, social media reach, radio and television exposure, industry influence, and future growth.
In an interview marking the achievement, the members named entering major music charts as one of the proudest moments of their career.
They said, “It was something we had dreamed about for a long time, so experiencing it in real life made it feel even more meaningful. These moments helped us realize that our music is reaching more people beyond where we started, and we are truly grateful.”
CORTIS also released the surprise digital single MOTION (feat. Juicy J) on July 31. The track features American rapper and producer Juicy J and expresses the group’s confidence as they take on new challenges.
The group is scheduled to perform its own 50-minute set at Lollapalooza Chicago in Grant Park on August 1. The performance will be streamed live on Weverse beginning at 5:05 a.m. Korean Standard Time on August 2.
