CORTIS has been recognized as one of the most innovative and influential artists under the age of 21 by Billboard.
The boy group, consisting of Martin, James, Juhoon, Seonghyeon, and Keonho, was included in Billboard’s 21 Under 21 list released on July 31. CORTIS is the only K-pop boy group selected for this year’s list.
Billboard considers several factors when choosing the artists, including album and song sales, streaming numbers, social media reach, radio and television exposure, industry influence, and future growth.
In an interview celebrating the achievement, the members named their entry onto major music charts as one of their proudest moments.
They said, “It was something we had dreamed about for a long time, so experiencing it in real life made it feel even more meaningful. These moments helped us realize that our music is reaching more people beyond where we started, and we are truly grateful.”
CORTIS also surprised fans on July 31 by releasing the digital single MOTION (feat. Juicy J), a collaboration with American rapper and producer Juicy J. The song expresses the group’s confidence as they take on new challenges.
The group is also scheduled to perform its own set at Lollapalooza Chicago in Grant Park on August 1. The 50-minute performance will be streamed live through Weverse beginning at 5:05 a.m. Korean Standard Time on August 2.
