P.O shared a funny behind the scenes story from filming Netflix’s “Teach You a Lesson”.

In a recent interview, the singer and actor talked about playing Bong Geun Dae, an elite civil servant assigned to the Teachers’ Rights Protection Bureau. His character does not appear in the original webtoon, but P.O brought him to life with his natural and witty acting.

Looking back on the set, P.O said he learned a lot from working with Kim Mu Yeol, Lee Sung Min, Jin Ki Joo, and the director. He shared, “I learned so much by watching how the hyungs moved and following them,” adding that the set helped him grow as an actor.

P.O also said he felt touched when the director told him that no one else could play the role. He explained, “When the director told me, ‘No one but you can play this role,’ I felt so overwhelmed, proud, and happy.”

Although many viewers think P.O is similar to Bong Geun Dae, he said they are actually different. He explained, “I am not that smart, and I do not have the kind of brain that can solve problems,” adding that he also does not have trouble getting along with people like the character.

One of the funniest parts of the interview came when P.O talked about wearing a school uniform for scenes where Bong Geun Dae goes undercover at a school.

He said, “I tried to remove my beard shadow with laser treatment, but it hurt so much”. He added, “After filming the first scene, I thought I should have gotten hair removal and taken better care of my skin.”

P.O joked that if he has to wear a school uniform again in a possible Season 2, he will prepare better next time.

He also talked about the difficulty of acting like he was being hit, saying, “I did not know acting like you are being hit was that difficult.” He explained that he learned the person receiving the hit also needs to act well for the scene to look good.

P.O also reacted to the strong response to “Teach You a Lesson,” saying he felt the drama’s impact was big. He shared that after seeing posts asking what it would be like if a real Teachers’ Rights Protection Bureau existed, he realized the drama touched on problems that many people feel are realistic.

“Teach You a Lesson” has been receiving major attention in Korea and overseas. The Netflix series ranked No. 1 on the global non English series chart just three days after its release and is expected to continue its strong performance in its second week.
