Actor Ji Soo has shared an update on his life and acting career in the Philippines, where he has been actively appearing in local dramas and television programs.
Ji Soo recently attended a brand event at SM Mall of Asia in Manila, drawing attention as he greeted local fans and continued his overseas activities.
He is currently affiliated with major Philippine broadcaster GMA and has been appearing in the network’s dramas and entertainment programs.
Speaking about the differences between working in Korea and the Philippines, Ji Soo explained that actors sometimes handle more expenses themselves.
He said, “This morning, I appeared on a Philippine morning program for an interview, and I did my own hair and makeup because I wanted to save money.”
He added with a laugh, “The system is a little different from Korea, and there are cases where actors have to personally cover certain working expenses.”
Ji Soo also revealed that he worked hard to improve his English after moving to the Philippines.
He said, “I always had a dream of working overseas, so I thought I really needed to study English properly. I started studying after coming to the Philippines and hired two private tutors.”
He continued, “I worked very hard, and now my English is good enough that it does not cause problems while I am working.”
The actor said he has now been working in the Philippines for around two years and has noticed growing recognition from local audiences.
Ji Soo shared, “It has been exactly two years since I started working in the Philippines. I think being Korean also brings some additional interest, and more people recognize me compared to before.”
He added, “I’m grateful because people give me such warm reactions wherever I go. I also learn a lot from those experiences.”
Ji Soo recently made a short visit to Korea in July before returning to the Philippines.
He ended the interview with a warm message, saying, “Korea was also extremely hot when I visited recently. I hope everyone takes good care of their health.”
After spending the past two years building his career in the Philippines, Ji Soo is continuing to focus on acting and television activities while adjusting to a different entertainment industry and expanding his opportunities overseas.
