IVE’s Jang Wonyoung is drawing attention for a thoughtful message she shared while answering a fan’s concern about dealing with unfair situations.
On August 6, Harper’s Bazaar Korea released a video in which Jang Wonyoung personally responded to questions submitted by fans.
One fan asked, “Sometimes in life, unfair situations happen that you cannot fully explain with words. How do you handle those moments without letting them bring you down?”
Jang Wonyoung responded, “This is really true, and I think it is something everyone can relate to. But whenever something unfair happens, I want you to first remember that I am always on your side.”
She continued, “In the end, the truth is bound to come out. It is only a matter of time, and eventually, luck will be on your side. I will always support you.”
Her answer attracted additional attention because of several recent online discussions involving the IVE member.
Earlier this year, Jang Wonyoung became the subject of an online debate after some people claimed she had arrived late to a fashion event.
It was later reported that she had already arrived at the venue and had been waiting, with the confusion reportedly related to how the photo call was organized.
Another discussion emerged in May after a short airport clip showed Jang Wonyoung standing with her arms crossed during an identity check.
Additional footage from another angle later showed her handing over her passport with both hands and cooperating with staff when asked to show her face for verification.
More recently, a brief clip of Jang Wonyoung crossing her arms for several seconds while listening to a staff member at an amusement park event also attracted comments online.
While some questioned the gesture, many others said it appeared to be a normal and unconscious posture and felt that too much meaning was being placed on a minor action.
Jang Wonyoung did not directly connect her advice to any of these situations. Her comments were made in response to a fan asking how to stay strong when facing something they feel is unfair.
