Moon Sang Min is continuing his rise as one of the leading actors in his 20s.

At the 46th Golden Cinematography Awards held on June 8, Moon Sang Min won Best New Actor for his role in the Netflix film “Pavane.” The award is especially meaningful as “Pavane” marks his film debut.

During his acceptance speech, Moon Sang Min said, “I am really happy to receive a meaningful award for ‘Pavane,’ a work I love. I sincerely thank the actors who warmly guided me despite my shortcomings, and the director who trusted me until the end.”

He also thanked the viewers, saying, “Thank you to everyone who loved ‘Pavane,’ and I will work hard to show good sides of myself in the future.”

In “Pavane,” Moon Sang Min plays Kyung Rok, a young man who gives up his dream of becoming a dancer and works part time as a parking guide at a department store. Through the role, he showed the struggles of youth, as well as the way his character changes and grows through love.

Moon Sang Min first gained major attention through the 2022 drama “Under the Queen’s Umbrella,” where he won several rookie awards, including at the Baeksang Arts Awards and Asia Artist Awards. With his Best New Actor win for “Pavane,” he is now proving his strength in both dramas and films.

Moon Sang Min will next appear in the Netflix series “Beauty in the Beast” and the Disney Plus original series “The Miracles of the Namiya General Store.”
