Gong Myung looked back on tvN’s “Filing for Love” and shared his honest thoughts about his role, his chemistry with Shin Hye Sun, and the new image he wanted to show.

In the drama, Gong Myung played Noh Ki Jun, an ace employee in the audit team of Hae Mu Group. Through the character, he showed both a sweet younger man romance and a more mature, masculine side.

After the drama ended, Gong Myung said he still could not believe it was over. He shared, “After we finished filming, I watched the broadcast as a viewer and enjoyed it, but I still cannot believe it is over.”

He added that the project was special because he had a fun time filming with the director and cast, and he was happy many viewers enjoyed it.

Gong Myung also said the audit team setting felt fresh to him. He explained that he learned through the script that this kind of workplace audit work really exists, including cases involving company issues and workplace misconduct.

For the role, Gong Myung paid special attention to his appearance, especially his suits. He said, “The biggest experience was wearing suits as much as I wanted,” and added that he had about four suits made because he wanted Noh Ki Jun to look strong and stylish.

He also worked hard on his body for the role. Gong Myung shared that he started gaining weight three months before filming, then cut body fat during filming. He said he gained about 5 kg, later lost around 3 kg of body fat, and ate mainly salad and chicken breast while preparing.

Gong Myung gave high praise to Shin Hye Sun, saying their chemistry was beyond perfect. He said, “My chemistry with Shin Hye Sun was really good,” then added, “It is funny for me to give a score, but it was 120 points out of 100.”

He explained that one reason he wanted to join the drama was because he was excited to work with Shin Hye Sun. He said they became comfortable on set, joked around often, and that their natural chemistry helped their acting.

Gong Myung also praised Shin Hye Sun’s acting, saying he was impressed by her tone, gestures, and hand movements. He said, “I really thought she was Joo In Ah,” while also describing her as professional on set and comfortable like an older sister when they were waiting together.

The actor also talked about the much discussed kiss scene in episode 4. Gong Myung said he was satisfied with the scene and explained that they filmed it with the energy of an action scene. He said the goal was not only to make it look pretty, but to make the emotions feel sudden and natural.

Gong Myung also responded to the love he received as a younger man character. He said he felt the popularity through reactions from people around him and realized that Noh Ki Jun was receiving a lot of love. However, he added that he wants to do even better if he plays a similar character again.

When asked if he was worried about being fixed with the “younger man” image, Gong Myung said he was not worried. He explained that it means people have an image they want to see from him, and he only wants to show that side even better.

Gong Myung also opened up about his recent sudden hearing loss, saying, “Thankfully, I am recovering well now.” He said stress may have been the cause and added that his body seemed to be sending him a warning not to push himself too hard.

Finally, Gong Myung said the charm he wanted to show in “Secret Audit” was masculinity. He shared, “I wanted to show a manly side,” and said he was happy many viewers noticed that new side of him.

He ended by thanking viewers for loving the drama and promised to continue working hard to show new sides of himself in the future.
