ENA’s Monday Tuesday drama “The Scarecrow” ended on a high note with its best ratings yet.
The drama aired its final episode on May 26. After starting with a nationwide rating of 2.9%, “The Scarecrow” continued to gain attention through strong reviews and word of mouth. Its final episode recorded 8.1% nationwide and 8.3% in the Seoul metropolitan area, setting a new personal best.
The drama also reached a peak rating of 9.3% per minute nationwide, while its 2049 target rating peaked at 3.3%.

With these numbers, “The Scarecrow” ranked No. 1 among Monday Tuesday dramas and also placed first among all channels in the same time slot, based on Nielsen Korea’s paid household data.
The finale focused on the retrial of Im Seok Man and the long hidden truth behind the case. Witnesses denied claims of forced investigation, while Kang Tae Joo admitted past errors linked to the key evidence that had pointed to Im Seok Man as the culprit.
The episode also showed painful revelations involving Cha Si Young, Kang Tae Joo, Seo Ji Won, and Lee Yong Woo.
In one of the most striking turns, the story showed the irony of “a killer revealing the truth that the police buried.” Because of Lee Yong Woo’s testimony, Im Seok Man was found not guilty after 30 years.
However, the drama did not end with full relief. Kang Tae Joo said, “Unfortunately, it is not over yet,” as some wounds remained unresolved and some people could no longer be legally punished due to the statute of limitations. He also told Lee Yong Woo, “You were the beginning of all this tragedy.”
“The Scarecrow” gained attention as a drama inspired by a real serial murder case that happened in Korea from 1986 to 1991. The series looked back on a painful case that should not be forgotten, while also showing the people still living with its impact.
With strong acting, steady praise, and a clear social message, “The Scarecrow” ended its 12 episode run as one of ENA’s standout dramas.
