Jung Joon Won praises Gong Hyo Jin’s acting and reveals why she is called the rom com queen

Actor Jung Joon Won shared his admiration for Gong Hyo Jin, praising her acting skills and the respectful attitude she showed while working together on MBC’s A Bona Fide Killer.

Jung Joon Won played Kwon Tae Sung, the loving husband and social affairs reporter of Gong Hyo Jin’s character Yoo Bo Na. After the drama ended, he talked about his experience working with the veteran actress.

Recalling his first impression of Gong Hyo Jin, Jung Joon Won said he initially felt she had a strong and charismatic presence. However, he revealed that her personality on set was very different from what he expected.

*“She was a very cute and lovely senior actress. Sometimes, she even had a bright and innocent side like a child,”* he shared.

Jung Joon Won also praised Gong Hyo Jin’s ability to fully immerse herself in her roles.

*“Even though I knew the camera was filming and we were in the middle of a shoot, she had the incredible ability to make the moment feel real,”* he said, adding that he was repeatedly impressed by her focus and passion for acting.

He especially mentioned a flashback proposal scene from the drama, saying it made him understand why Gong Hyo Jin is known as a “rom com queen.”

*“When I saw her eyes change during filming, I was surprised. I thought, ‘There is a reason she is called the rom com queen,’”* he said.

Jung Joon Won also expressed gratitude for how Gong Hyo Jin treated him as a fellow actor rather than simply a junior.

*“I felt that she respected me as a colleague from the beginning,”* he explained, adding that although he was nervous because of her long career, she made him feel comfortable by working with him on the same level.

He revealed that they were able to openly share opinions about scenes as filming continued, and he appreciated that Gong Hyo Jin approached their partnership with respect.

Meanwhile, Jung Joon Won also credited director Yoon Jong Ho for helping him understand his character as a husband and father, sharing that the director provided guidance based on his own experiences.

Through his experience working with Gong Hyo Jin, Jung Joon Won highlighted the actress’ professionalism, warmth, and ability to create strong chemistry with her co stars.
