A designer has apologized after previously claiming that outfits connected to BLACKPINK’s Jisoo had not been returned.

On May 8, Benjamin Benmoyal, founder of the Belgian fashion brand Judassime, released a statement to clarify the situation involving Jisoo and her company BLISSOO.

He said, “I want to publicly correct the situation regarding Jisoo and her company BLISSOO,” and added, “I take responsibility for the way I first brought up this issue.”

The designer made it clear that Jisoo and BLISSOO did not steal or personally keep the outfits. He stated, “Ji Soo or BLISSOO never stole the outfits, directly managed or shipped them, or personally kept them.” He also said, “At no point did I intend to directly blame Jisoo.”

According to Benjamin Benmoyal, the outfits were sent to Paris last December for a Jisoo related shoot that was expected to take place in Korea. However, the shoot was delayed several times, and the clothes were not returned for months without clear updates.

He explained that an invoice was sent only in case the outfits were not returned. He has since received confirmation that the outfits will be returned.

He also shared that the situation had a serious effect on his brand, saying the outfits were “very valuable works, both emotionally and financially.” He asked people to separate Jisoo as an individual artist from the communication issue, while also understanding that the matter affected his work and future opportunities.

The controversy began after the designer posted online and directly tagged Jisoo, writing, “Give me back my things,” and also claiming, “Jisoo took my things.” The remarks led to criticism and confusion among fans.

After the issue grew, Benjamin Benmoyal released another statement and said he only wanted to recover the items, not personally attack Jisoo.

He also said he had been told that “everything is being resolved,” and that someone would be sent to Korea to retrieve the outfits.
