SBS’s Flex X Cop 2 is gaining momentum, with the drama reaching a new personal best among younger viewers as Jung Chaeyeon becomes connected to Ahn Bo Hyun’s latest investigation.

Episode 7, which aired on August 28, recorded a peak nationwide rating of 7.6 percent and a Seoul metropolitan area rating of 6.8 percent. More notably, the drama’s key 20 to 49 demographic rating climbed to a series high of 2.1 percent, with a peak of 2.53 percent.

The latest episode followed Jin Yi Soo, played by Ahn Bo Hyun, and team leader Joo Hye Ra, played by Jung Eun Chae, as their violent crimes unit investigated a mysterious incident involving a famous magician.

The case takes another turn with the connection to Ham Sung Wook, played by Heo Sung Tae. Jung Chaeyeon enters the story as his daughter Ham Soo Jung, whose connection to the investigation puts her father under greater scrutiny.

Keeping spoilers to a minimum, Jin Yi Soo once again relies on the enormous wealth that makes his investigations different from those of an ordinary detective. After having trouble meeting Ham Sung Wook, he discovers that the man regularly visits a members-only shooting range.

His solution is exactly what viewers have come to expect from the chaebol detective: he simply buys the entire shooting range.

When the two finally come face to face, Jin Yi Soo casually greets him with, “Wow, we finally meet, Mr. Gangster Ham Sung Wook.”

The unusual confrontation brings back one of Flex X Cop 2’s signature elements, with Jin Yi Soo using his money and influence to find unconventional ways around obstacles during an investigation.

With its 20 to 49 rating now reaching a new season high and Jung Chaeyeon joining the latest case alongside Ahn Bo Hyun, Jung Eun Chae, and Heo Sung Tae, attention is growing over how the investigation will develop in the next episode.
