
Netflix’s Korean YA horror series If Wishes Could Kill is gaining fast global attention after a strong first week.
According to Netflix’s global TOP 10 non English show chart, If Wishes Could Kill ranked No. 4 just 3 days after its release on April 24. The series recorded 2.8 million views, based on total viewing hours divided by runtime.
The drama also entered the TOP 10 list in 37 countries, including South Korea, Mexico, India, Malaysia, Thailand, the United Arab Emirates, and Turkey, showing its wide international reach.

If Wishes Could Kill follows high school students who receive sudden death warnings after being connected to a mysterious wish granting app. The show is being praised for bringing a fresh young adult horror style to Korean content.
International media also gave positive reviews. One review said the characters fighting to stop the curse bring “both fun and fear.”
Another described the series as starting like a school drama before expanding into “occult horror.” TIME called it “a clever mix of teen drama, tech horror, and occult mystery.”
Famous game creator Hideo Kojima also praised Girigo, saying, “The idea of a cursed app is classic but very interesting.”
He added, “I was completely drawn in,” and described the series as a strong balance of “humor and fear, friendship and betrayal.”
