BTS has added another major achievement to their global record.

According to France’s National Syndicate of Phonographic Publishing, also known as SNEP, BTS’s 5th full-length album ARIRANG received platinum certification in the album category on April 27. The certification is given to albums that reach 100,000 units through combined physical sales, downloads, and streaming conversions.

With this, BTS now has four group albums certified platinum in France, following MAP OF THE SOUL : 7, Proof, and LOVE YOURSELF : ANSWER.

ARIRANG reached the milestone at a faster pace than their previous albums. The album earned gold certification just six days after release and became platinum certified in about one month. In comparison, MAP OF THE SOUL : 7 and Proof each took around one year and two months to receive platinum certification in France.

BTS is also continuing to show strong results in Japan. Their song “Let Go,” from the 2018 Japanese album FACE YOURSELF, passed 100 million streams in March and received platinum certification from the Recording Industry Association of Japan. This became BTS’s 17th platinum certification in Japan, extending their record as the K-pop artist with the most certifications there.

ARIRANG also received triple platinum certification in Japan after passing 750,000 shipments as of March. The album reached the certification only 11 days after its March 20 release.

Along with their chart and certification records, BTS has started their BTS WORLD TOUR ARIRANG IN NORTH AMERICA. The tour began on April 25 at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa and will continue across 12 cities with 31 shows, all of which sold out early.

BTS’s full world tour is expected to include 85 shows in 34 cities, making it one of the largest tours by a Korean artist. Additional shows in Japan and the Middle East are also expected to expand the tour even further.
