K/DA has officially returned after nearly six years, with i-dle’s Soyeon and Miyeon once again voicing Akali and Ahri in the virtual girl group’s new song FIRESTARTER.

K/DA released FIRESTARTER and its music video on October 19, marking the group’s first new song since *MORE* from the 2020 mini album *ALL OUT*.

The comeback immediately drew strong attention. The music video surpassed 6 million views on the official *League of Legends* YouTube channel within 14 hours of release and received more than 19,000 comments during the same period.

K/DA was created by Riot Games using champions from *League of Legends*, with real singers providing the characters’ voices. The group first gained international attention in 2018 with *POP/STARS*, whose music video has since exceeded 668 million YouTube views.

For FIRESTARTER, Miyeon and Soyeon returned as Ahri and Akali respectively. Sophie Powers joined as Evelynn, while British singer Mimi Webb voices Kai’Sa.

The music video was produced by French animation studio Fortiche, known for its work on K/DA’s *POP/STARS* and Netflix’s *Arcane*.

Much of the early fan discussion focused on Soyeon’s return as Akali. Fans praised her rap section, with comments describing her as difficult to replace in the role.

One widely shared reaction stated, *“Akali is irreplaceable without Soyeon,”* while another praised her verse for raising the energy of the entire track.

Fans also highlighted a scene featuring Kai’Sa performing voguing choreography during Soyeon’s rap as one of the music video’s standout moments.

Miyeon and Soyeon’s return also inspired playful reactions from longtime fans, with some joking that the two i-dle members have practically become Riot Games employees after repeatedly returning to their K/DA characters.

There was also some disappointment over the absence of Madison Beer, who previously provided Evelynn’s voice, while the new lineup attracted attention of its own.

The timing of K/DA’s comeback has added to the excitement, as FIRESTARTER arrives during the 2026 *League of Legends World Championship* in the United States.

With 6 million views in just 14 hours and strong reactions to Soyeon and Miyeon returning to their original roles, K/DA’s first comeback in six years has quickly become a major talking point among both K-pop and *League of Legends* fans.
