BTS is continuing its strong performance on the U.S. Billboard charts even five weeks after the release of their latest album.
According to Billboard’s chart preview article released on April 26 local time, BTS’s fifth full-length album ‘ARIRANG’ ranked No. 4 on the main album chart, the Billboard 200, for the chart dated May 2.
The album recorded 62,000 album units this week. Billboard’s album units combine physical and digital album sales, streaming-based units, and digital song download units.
‘ARIRANG’ has stayed near the top of the chart for five straight weeks, showing steady interest from listeners and strong global support.
Its continued success is also drawing attention as an important start for what many are calling “BTS 2.0,” as the album reflects the group’s identity and future direction.
BTS also began their ‘BTS WORLD TOUR ‘ARIRANG’ IN NORTH AMERICA’ on April 25 at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida.
The tour will visit 12 cities, including Mexico City, Las Vegas, and Chicago, with 31 shows in total. All tickets reportedly sold out quickly.
After their Tampa shows on April 25, 26, and 28, BTS will continue the tour at Sun Bowl Stadium in El Paso on May 2 and 3. BTS is reported to be the first Korean act to hold a solo concert at the stadium.
