MBC’s new weekend drama ‘Perfect Crown’ is drawing strong attention as it quickly rises in ratings and reshapes the weekend drama lineup.

The drama, starring IU and Byeon Woo Seok, recorded 7.8 percent for its first episode and jumped to 9.5 percent in Episode 2, showing a rapid increase and approaching the 10 percent mark.

With this sharp rise, the show has taken a large share of viewers, affecting other dramas airing at the same time.

SBS’s ‘Phantom Lawyer’, which previously held strong ratings, saw a noticeable drop. After recording 9.5 percent in Episode 8, its rating fell to 6.7 percent in Episode 9, which aired at the same time as the new drama, and slightly decreased again to 6.6 percent in Episode 10.

Similarly, tvN’s ‘Mad Concrete Dreams’ also experienced a decline. Its Episode 9 recorded 2.0 percent, down from 2.8 percent in the previous episode. However, when it did not overlap with the competing drama, Episode 10 recovered to 3.1 percent.

As ‘Perfect Crown’ continues to gain attention with its rising ratings, there is growing interest in whether it will maintain its lead in the coming weeks or if other dramas will recover as they approach their finales.
